This section outlines some of the process that applies to my work with each unique project needing its own artifacts, design documentation, and process to insure the best collaboration possibility and product.
As a Leader, I work to provide the flexibility to nurture each persons process to generate the best work. Top performing team members understand how to help the group and where, their unique skills overlap with the project needs. I strive to bring our the best version of each persons I get the opportunity to work alongside.

I spent my youth at the end of a gravel road in the rural America hillside in Ferrum, Virginia. It was here in a county without many kids my age I learned it was more fun to make up games and create worlds with the Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 rule books. Applying raw creative power around a system was the most freeing experience I could dream of. Looking back It was this time that solidified the foundation of my creative approach to problem solving.

For The Love
of Design
Paper is where each of my projects start, small notebooks to large sketchbooks, graph paper , & water color are my go to to start the ideation process. Often I love to find a quiet place alone in nature or the corner of the office generating outlines of systems, concepts and design elements.
When leading Teams, I start with the core concepts as to clearly define the objectives that will drive innovation, As a director my method has been to point to the common goals to invite collaboration, conversation and contribution.

After the idea starts to take shape, I look to select a platform to develop some preliminary sketches in an environment that most closely represents where the idea will live. Discovery of new and interesting limitations or hidden abilities of the platform can be uncovered while playing in the program.

Supporting the army of developers with timely accurate information allows for design to work along side of the development team solving problems in a parallel pipeline. The push and pull of development can not be controlled but, we can command short burst to help guide the process.

Getting into a space where the interactions will happen quickly to iterate with the development and design teams is the heart of the refinement process.
Discovery at this stage is key, allowing for the work to take shape in a fluid dynamic way insures the solutions come from real world testing.

Producing during the development means solving the problems before they are problems.
Breaking down each part of the deployment process, thinking through each step the user will go through, this creates the brands values throughout the experience from Demo to Sale.

You never know where your dreams will take you, one day it was scribbles in a notebook, the next you are standing in a foreign land sharing your passions with the world. I Have always been most comfortable in the lab but enjoy to see the project to the end.
